Considering the historical cultural aspects of society, it is observed that certain social groups, such as the LGBT community and individuals that do not meet the imposed expectations of gender and sexuality, are on the fringe of society. Universities, in theory, must address these issues in order to produce theoretical knowledge that enables them to deepen on such topics, and their productions must be shared. The technological advances enabled the development of mechanisms for information sharing, such as institutional repositories, which play an important role in enabling society to access information produced in universities. However, the problem that can be raised refers to the visibility of gender research in the universities of the state of São Paulo, especially Unesp. This way, the research, based on Science Information and related disciplines, aims at improving the sharing and giving greater visibility to academic productions that deal with the LGBT theme, gender and sexuality diversity stored and preserved in institutional repositories, proposing that the access to the productions of this segment is of extreme relevance for the construction of a more egalitarian society. The present research points out the following question: how does the Design of the resources used in the Unesp digital institutional repository allow the scientific productions related to the LGBT community, gender and sexuality diversity? To this end, the methodology to be used is of theoretical exploratory nature, which consists of a bibliographical survey referring to the topics addressed and an exploratory study of the repository elected for the beginning of our research - Unesp institutional repository. It is hoped that the study of the environment will allow obtaining data about the scientific productions about the LGBT community, gender and sexuality diversity in the converged environment, identifying aspects regarding the sharing and visibility of these themes.
