Abstract

The present research project intends to carry out a theoretical analysis and the computational implementation of a scatter search algorithm applied to the problem of reconfiguration of primary feeders in power distribution systems. Thus, it is intended to develop a scatter search algorithm that generates a initial set of quality solutions, preserving the requirement that the topologies must be radial and quality. Subsequently, the interactive phase of the scatter search is implemented. The scatter search algorithm has a population characteristic as does other metaheuristics, such as the genetic algorithm and PSO. However, the scatter search algorithm prioritizes decisions deterministic at the expense of stochastic decisions. As part of the research project, a specialized radial load flow algorithm to find the losses of each proposal solution chosen by the metaheuristic and also to verify if the proposed solution is operationally feasible, ie, if there are no operational limits violations in the electrical system. It is intended to test the performance of the algorithm using data from existing systems in the specialized literature. (AU)
