Abstract

Heart rate variability is one of the means of observing the interaction between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is a tool used to describe the oscillations of the R-R wave intervals, in which the sinus node is responsible for the beginning of the heart beats and has an influence of the autonomic nervous system, and thus indirectly evaluates the autonomic cardiac modulation of the individuals. The international sandwich is important for the development of the young researcher and teacher. The opportunity to be in another country with a different culture, resources and systematization of a developed country can make a difference in the professional development of the phD student. It is an essential moment for a greater development of the researcher, who will have contact with differentiated research projects, diverse research techniques, foreign language, future partnerships. In addition to a wide discussion on the theme in which the research student, which will help in increasing their knowledge in the area of heart rate variability and autonomic nervous system. Aim: Improve knowledge about heart rate variability and its techniques. Method: Development of the knowledge in the area from visitation to the laboratory and accompanying and assisting in the existing protocols, developed in the Laboratory of Stress Physiology of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Parma (Italy), in which the candidate will deepen their knowledge on the subject what research. Expected results: Obtain more knowledge in the area of heart rate variability and to learn about the techniques used in the Laboratory of Stress Physiology in animal studies under the theme of heart rate variability.
