Abstract

When it comes to manifacturing processes, the replacement of the application of abundant cutting fluid in the traditional processes for the method of minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has been the most searched for alternative and has shown better results, in both laboratories and industrial production. Also, the recent search for more efficient cutting fluids has brought the nanofluids, which use various nanoparticles to potencialize the performance of the cutting fluid. The use of nanofluids along with the MQL technique has shown to be, with that, more efficient, having the potential of improving even more the lubricant qualities of the fluid keeping the desired quality of the final product e decreasing the generation of residue in the production. With that, this research proposes an analysis of the performance of this combination between MQL and nanofluids and its viability in the industry. (AU)
