Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the biomechanical behavior and survival of hybrid ceramic crowns (Vita Enamic, Vita Zahnfabrick, Bad Säckingen, Germany) obtained by different manufacturing techniques. For this, 69 implant analogues will be installed in polyurethane cylinders. Each analogue will receive a universal titanium base that will be scanned to obtain a molar ceramic crown (element 37). Specimens will be divided into three groups (n = 23), according to the prosthetic solution to be used: crown cemented to a mesostructure screwed to the abutment (CME group); monolithic crown cemented on the abutment (MC group); and, monolithic crown screwed to the abutment (MP group). The crowns of CME and MC groups will be cemented on the abutment with resin cement and the crowns of MP group will be screwed with a torque of 35 N/cm. Then, specimens will be submitted to mechanical fatigue in the range of 2 x 106 cycles (2 Hz). Failure mode will be evaluated through stereomicroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and the images will be analyzed qualitatively. Also, an in silico evaluation of stress distribution in the structures will be performed through Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Fatigue test data will be analyzed through pertinent statistics. (AU)
