Abstract

This project is requesting a BEPE scholarship to develop field research in the United Kingdom that was already planned in the project approved by FAPESP, "The agglomeration and collaboration in the Cultural Economy - comparisons between the Creative Hubs in Brazil and the UK," (2016/20431-4). The goal of my postdoctoral project is to map out these new types of urban organization and to identify how creative agents organize themselves as well as the impacts of cultural policies on the development of these new agglomerations. The goal of this internship is to develop an ethnographic research with five Creative Hubs (two in London and three in Birmingham) using the methodology developed by Creativeworks London, a project developed by researchers at Queen Mary University of London. This field research is a fundamental part of my postdoctoral project, because I will be able to compare the data gathered in the UK with the data gathered from field research in São Paulo, developing a categorization of Creative Hubs.
