Abstract

A chemistry teaching with contextualization is, for several authors, a way to students to feel motivated and to attribute meaning to the school contents, enabling to more effective learning. However, due to differences of interest between the students and individuals with different experiences, there are difficulties to identify social issues that mobilize the class and arouse in them the curiosity to need to seek new knowledge. In this context, this project seeks to investigate if there are groups of students with characteristics in common with regard to interests related to daily chemical themes, as well as attitudes, customs and interests related to chemical knowledge / subjects. From these results, with the objective of orienting teachers of high school chemistry in the promotion of contextualized learning, it is proposed to elaborate and validate indicators that relate students' attitudes, customs and interests to the categories of daily chemical themes and which allows to suggest from these categories of those that would be of greater interest of the students and promote the contextualization of the learning of chemistry. The reliability of the questionnaires will be verified by Cronbach's Alpha coefficient; the identification of categories in the students' answers will be carried out through Principal Component Analysis; and the correlation study between the categories will be evaluated through the Pearson coefficient.
