Abstract

The aim of this project is to investigate the phonetic-phonological processes of the Portuguese spoken in São Tomé (PST) and the Portuguese spoken in Príncipe (PP), Portuguese language varieties of São Tomé and Príncipe. The corpus for the identification of the phonological processes comprises 12 spontaneous speech interviews. They were collected in loco during the Master's research The nasality in Portuguese spoken in STP (Process 2015/25332-1). The processes will be empirically analyzed in a controled context, therefore, this corpus will be expanded and we will also work with a set of data comprising controled sentences. To describe and examine the processes, this project uses a laboratory phonology methodological approach (OHALA, 1995; ALBANO, 2017) and different studies describing and analyzing phonological processes in Brazilian Portuguese (PB) and European Portuguese (PE) (CÂMARA-JR, 1970; CUNHA, 1982; BISOL, 1992; WETZELS, 1992; ABAURRE, 1996; CALLOU et al., 1996; FROTA, 2000; MATEUS & D'ANDRADE, 2000; SCHWINDT, 2002; TENANI, 2004; MASSINI-CAGLIARI, 2005; BRANDÃO, 2007).
