Abstract

This project aims to research and analyze the use of science fiction films and books as tools for teaching science, with emphasis on physics. Different possibilities of insertion of science fiction will be evaluated for the motivation for scientific subjects, as well as for the structuring of didactic scripts, lesson plans and pedagogical practices, addressing contents related to both basic physics and modern and contemporary physics that are present in the curriculum of high schools and in undergraduate courses in natural sciences. Initially an extensive survey will be made about the research already done on this subject both in Brazil and in foreign countries, in order to structure a concrete idea about the "current state of art" in this regard. The works of science fiction will be chosen considering the potentiality of use in the teaching of physics. Through them, concrete educational proposals will be elaborated for scientific dissemination and education, with a view to the possibility of encouraging young talents to scientific careers. The educational texts elaborated will be analyzed from their results and will be made available in an open way to those interested through the internet. (AU)
