Abstract

We aim at drawing an ethical-aesthetic-political panorama from dissent to heteronormative patterns about sexualities and gender identities, describing the modes of constitution of homo, les, bi and transphobia, and the ways in which LGBT film characters escape from them. This project is the last phase of three others that preceded it and that focused on cinematography produced in Latin, Central and North America and Europe. In this fourth and final phase of the project, we will focus our efforts on the films produced in the African and Asian continent, also from 1990 to 2010. Methodology: from the films produced during the decades of 1990 to 2010 in the African and Asian countries presented in the explosion of the LGBT film festivals, specifically the MixBrazil of Diversity, we will undertake an analysis of the ethical-aesthetic-political discursive lines that support the expressions of homosexuality, especially masculine, as technologies of gender and power. To do this, we will use content analysis as a tool that will support the interpretations of the selected films, which will be interpreted from the Cultural, Gender and Queer Studies. Expected results: it is expected to understand how, in these two decades, binary homo/heterosexual, and male/female binary models were produced in order to establish relations among these new aesthetic expressions (queer), the production of LGBT identities and their dialogues with psychology.
