Abstract

Education and interprofessional work make up teaching models and health care practices that seek to break with the fragmentation of care, the decontextualized and independent care of each professional. It is a proposal that values the doing with responsibility and critical reflection of each professional involved in the collaborative work. Brazil has been developing different experiences of interprofessional education in graduations in health and in multiprofessional residences, in the care of homeless people, in home care, among others. Considering the need for a closer approximation of the training of health professionals with health work, a cross-professional discipline with an annual participation of 120 nursing and medical students is developed in a Brazilian public university in the first two years of graduation. The groups consist of 12 to 14 students and a teacher. Students, mediated by teachers of different professional backgrounds, learn and interact together to improve the quality of care provided to families and the community in Primary Health Care. Interprofessional education is a strategy used to expand teamwork. The present study aims to examine this teaching-learning process from the perspectives of undergraduate medical and nursing teachers seeking to recognize and analyze their perceptions and experiences of interprofessional education. It is an exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, in which tries to understand the experience of interprofessional education attributed by the professors of medicine and nursing. The research will be conducted through interviews with teachers and preceptors on the subject of interprofessional education. From the material obtained will be carried out content analysis, with thematic analysis. The field established was the Integration University, Services and Community I and II (IUSC II and I) offered to students of the first and second years of undergraduate courses in medicine and nursing of a state public university in the interior of São Paulo. These disciplines have as object of study and practice of primary health care in the municipality, in the health centers, the work process developed in them and their respective territories. It is hoped as a result to understand the teachers' perception about the development of interprofessional education, its difficulties, strategies for the development of collaborative work among students of higher education in primary health care. The research should contribute to the construction of knowledge about the potentialities and challenges of interprofessional education in higher education in health. (AU)
