This postdoctoral research project aims at investigating the following question: How can we discover useful and needed patterns in large datasets of electronic health records and present this information to healthcare providers in an easy and succinct way? The hypothesis of this project is that mathematical models supported by data mining algorithms are effective tools to detect and to explain hidden patterns in Electronic Health Record (HER) datasets. We intend to use visualization methods to convey the results to the specialists in the field. (AU)
