Abstract

The main objective of this research project is to define the correlation between the angle of Norberg, weight, gender and age with the stiffness of the pectineous muscle of dogs with hip dysplasia. The evaluation will be performed in a qualitative way using elastographic findings in mode B and quantitative by the quantification of pixels and shear velocity. Dogs weighing between 20 and 50 kg, age between 2 and 6 years old, male or female, will be selected for experimental sampling. After clinical and orthopedic examination, dogs with hip dysplasia will be submitted to radiographic examinations of the hip joints and ultrasonography mode B and elastography ARFI of the pectineus muscle, bilaterally. Statistical analysis will be performed with the using software R. The normality of the residues (Shapiro test) and homogeneity of the variances (Bartlett test) of the results will be tested. Quantitative and qualitative variables will be correlated with age, weight and angle of noberg by the Spearmanor Pearson test, and compared between the genders with the Student or Mann Withney test. A significance level of 5% (p<0.05) will be adopted. (AU)
