Abstract

The purpose of the research project to be developed during the international internship is to investigate the impacts of cystic fibrosis (CF) on the salivary composition of pediatric patients by salivary proteome analyses. Hundred children aged from 3 to 20 years will be included in the study and will be divided into 3 groups: G1- 25 pediatric patients with CF, CFTR mutation detected and Shwachman-Kulczycki score between 100 and 71; G2- 25 pediatric patients with CF, CFTR mutation detected and Shwachman-Kulczycki score under 71; and fifty systematically healthy children, paired according to age and sex to the CF groups. Stimulated saliva will be collected. Aliquots of saliva will be preserved at -80 ° C until processing for the proteomic analysis. Salivary proteins profiles will be generated by nLC-ESI-MS / MS technique. The profiles obtained for CF patients (G1 and G2) will be compared to the paired control group. The results will be analyzed by appropriate statistical tests (±=0.05).
