Abstract

Type 1 Diabetes mellitus (DM1) is a chronic disease characterized by partial or total destruction of the cells by islets of pancreatic Langerhans, resulting in the progressive inability to produce insulin. This classification can be subdivided into two types: Idiopathic and Autoimmune, being a more common autoimmune DM1, and is found in 5 to 10% of cases. One of the most aggravating symptoms of type 1 DM are as iatrogenic hypoglycemia, which can reach up to 90% of people treated with insulin, commonly seen at night time, and to avoid this symptom, some recent studies have found that dietary protein interferes with post blood glucose And insulin levels in patients with DM, and bring a possibility of increasing the protein content of the evening meal, may be beneficial to this symptom. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the effect of supplementation of an isolated protein modulus, equivalent to 0.5 g / kg more than is recommended daily, and of glucose, starting from the current weight of each patient, with A 4-day interval between supplements, on postprandial glycemia of type 1 diabetics, in continuous glucose monitoring. Patients are recruited at the Diabética Endocrinology Outpatient Clinic (END) at Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto - HCRP. (AU)
