Abstract

With the advances in technology and increasing interest in the improvement of diagnostic results, termography receives emphasis for being a non-invasive, painless, low-cost and safe method for termical mapping of bodies, through the capture of infrared radiation, allowing inflammatory processes to be easily located, since heat itself is one of the main signs of inflammation, arising even before any other clinical sign. Tracheal repairing surgeries have great importance in veterinary medicine, but still face obstacles when it comes to prosthetics application. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze, through termical images, the efficiency of the termographical techniques in evaluating the biocompatibility of tracheal tissue repair after implantation of a nylon prothesis associated to 3d-printed thermoplastic elastomer in rabbits, as well as the identification of inflammatory processes after surgery.
