Abstract

The aim of the study is to evaluate the antimicrobial properties of high-plasticity tricalcium based cements (MTA HP, Biodentine and MTA Flow) and an experimental cement composed by tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, bismuth oxide, zinc oxide and in the liquid, distilled water and water-based polymer. The cement will be evaluated regarding antimicrobial properties using two bacterial species in a inhibition test. The materials will be tested by means of agar diffusion test and the assessment of the inhibition area of bacterial growth for each cement will be evaluated according to the medium at 24h, 48h and 7 days. The results will be submited to normality test D'Agostino & Pearson (p < 0.05) to select the most adequate statistical test.
