This research project will to evaluate the in vivo effect of incorporation of nanoparticles of sodium hexametaphosphate (HMP) to brandmark bovine hydroxyapatite (Bio-Oss®) and to experimental sintetized hydroxyapatite, made by colaboration of Profa. Dra. Ana Paula Ramos of Laboratório de Físico-Química de Superfícies e Coloides da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto-USP. The analysis will be made by in vivo tests in critical defects of rat calvarium, on Faculdade de Odontologia de Araçatuba - UNESP, in collaboration of Profs. Adj. Roberta Okamoto and Ass. Dr. Leonardo Perez Faverani (Departamento de Cirurgia e Clínica Integrada) to verification of in vivo effect of viable concentrations of HMP. It will be used 72 rats, divided by 3 experimental groups, that will be euthanized in periods of 7, 14 and 28 days and the results will be evaluated by micro-CT, histometrical analysis, immunohistochemistry, fluorochromes and evaluation of mineralization performance by Von Kossa and polarized light, to verify inflammatory response to bone neoformation in relation to osteoconductor potential of this incorporated materials to HMP. It is expected that HMP incorporation improve the results in relation to analyzed parameters. (AU)
