Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of different levels of copper and zinc on parameters of performance (body weight, feed intake and feed conversion ratio), bone quality and oxidative stress of broiler chickens in Eimeria challenge. For this, 360 male chicks 1-d-old, will be used in this study. The birds will be distributed in a completely randomized design to 6 treatments groups, 6 replicates of 10 birds each. The treatments will be: T1: control non-challenge, T2: control challenge, T3: 100 ppm Cu sulfate challenge, T4: 150 ppm Cu sulfate challenge, T5: 80 ppm Zn sulfate challenge, T6: 100 ppm Zn sulfate challenge. One bird from each experimental pen will be slaughtered at 21 days of age by cervical dislocation for collecting the right tibia and blood for intestinal permeability study. Results will be submitted to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the averages were compared by Tukey test (5%), using Minitab® 16. (AU)
