Abstract This project aims to study the corrosion of aluminum alloys with high mechanical resistance (Al-Cu-Li), aeronautical grade, joined by FSW by means of localized electrochemical techniques with high spatial resolution, such as the Localized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (LEIS), Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique (SVET) and Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) techniques. These techniques will allow to identify the formation of galvanic pairs, to determine anodic and cathodic regions, and to study the local electrochemical reactivity, aiming to identify localized attacks caused by microstructural characteristics, and how the changes resulting from the welding process modify the susceptibility to corrosion of the different regions. | |
