Abstract

Dissemination of the activities conducted at research centers, especially public universities, is essential to broaden citizen participation as well as public understanding and debate about the national scientific scenario. Nevertheless, science communication is currently insufficient and does not meet societal demand on science subjects. The goal of this project is to increase the visibility of the research conducted at the Graduate Program in Ecology of the Bioscience Institute of the University of São Paulo. Concepts and main results, originally published in technical terms, will be presented as journalistic content using language accessible to the public and distributed in media platforms, such as ComCiência magazine, institutional websites and social media, and Oxygen web radio. As a result, we expect to highlight the importance of science to society and to contribute to public access to qualified scientific information.
