Abstract

Companies need to meet the needs and expectations of their customers. Besides this, they need to differentiate themselves from other competitors to maintain their profits. In this context, manufacturing companies have reinvented their business model towards service-oriented business models. This transformation is called servitization, which is a transition from product-centered logic towards a service-centric logic. The servitization literature has been pointed the benefits of servitization, such as the increased competitiveness, meeting the demand and economic reasons. However, studies present divergent results when they analyze the impact of servitization on the economic-financial performance. Therefore, it is relevant to study the levels of servitization of Brazilian manufacturing companies and their impact on the financial performance of these companies. Therefore, the objective of this project is to analyze the relationship between servitization and economic and financial performance in Brazilian manufacturing companies. Specially, those manufacturing companies listed on BMF & BOVESPA. As a research method, the following procedures will be adopted: systematic literature review, documentary research and survey strategy. The data collected will be analyzed with statistical tools to show if there is a relationship between the service offerings and the economic-financial performance of the companies. Besides this contribution, the project aim to increase the number of Brazilian researchers dealing with this research theme.
