Abstract

Smart Cities technologies emerge as a solution to address common problems in big urban centers, using the resources of the city in a more efficient way and providing better services to citizens. One of the goals of the INCT of the Future Internet for Smart Cities, InterSCity (http://interscity.org), is to explore strategies and develop applications for spacial visualization of large amount of data of large cities, like São Paulo, coming from multiple, heterogeneous sources. In this undergraduate research project, the student will work on data from the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS), provided by the São Paulo Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS-SP). The large amount of heterogeneous healthcare data in large cities requires the development of new ways to visualize interactively and in a georeferenced form the data for the health field. In this manner, this project has several opportunities for contributions for the development of these solutions. Healthcare researchers and computer scientists will work together seeking to contribute to innovative ways for collecting, storing, managing, visualizing, and analysing large amounts of data about healthcare of urban centres. This project will develop a pilot application that will be used by São Paulo Health Secretariat and it will propose a reference architecture for this type of system.
