Abstract

Energy systems are those designed to supply an energy demand, caring its generation, distribution and consumption. Currently, reliability is an important factor for an energy system analysis, since it considers the threats to its operation. However, events with low probability, but with drastic consequences, are disregarded in these methods. Resilience is defined as the parameter that takes these events into account, preparing the system to absorb such disruptions and return to the initial state of operation more quickly. Although many studies focused on qualify and quantify the resilience of energy systems, there is still no consensus in this field. Therefore, more research is needed in order to standardize methods, which can inform a certain value for resilience systems. The present work aims to develop new metrics for the quantification of resilience in energy systems. It is expected that these methods will be able to quantify the resilience of a general energy system, besides representing factors that influence this value, in order to point out possible improvements in system's structure.
