Abstract

All-inorganic metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (IHP-NCs) are promising materials for next-generation optoelectronic applications. The scientific interest regarding those materials is made evident by the emerge of a series of relevant papers in the past years. Most of it is due to their excellent optical and electronic properties, such as the optimal range of band gap energy values, high absorption coefficient and high emission efficiencies, broad absorption spectrum, good carrier mobilities with a high defect tolerance and long charge diffusion rates. Furthermore, IHP-NCs are particularly interesting because of their enhanced stability when compared to the most commonly studied organic metal halide perovskites (OHP). Hence, a variety of practical applications, from solar cells to photodetectors, should be suitable for IHP-NCs, including large scale applications, which are less explored by OHP researches on the account of their low intrinsic stability. This research project focuses on the acquaintance with methods of synthesis and characterization of all-inorganic metal halide perovskite (IHP) and familiarization with its optical properties. (AU)
