The considerable increase in greenhouse gases (GHG) in recent years and the consumption of non-renewable natural resources (limestone and fossil fuels) are related to the growing Portland cement production, from 2.8 to 4.2 billion tons between from 2011 to 2016, requires to develop new technological to reduce environmental impact.One of the proposed methodologies for this problem is the more efficient use of the cement clinker content in the concrete, reducing the clinker/cement ratio and the use of non-reactive materials such as limestone filler, with the control and increase of the packing and dispersion of the particles. This concrete has shown good rheological properties, mechanical and durable response, however, have not been reported the evaluation of these eco-efficient concretes with low cement content such as structural steel coating and the corrosive process that can present.The aim of this project is to study the kinetics of the corrosive process of steels in eco-efficient structural concrete with low cement content, high filler content and low amount of mixing water. Promote carbonation in an accelerated way and identify the potential risk of corrosion in these structures exposed to different relative humidity and Dry/Wet cycles, simulating the façades of the structures which are constantly exposed to corrosive processes.
