Abstract

In this project we propose to optimize the planned expansion of the OVRO-LWA array for cosmic-ray detection, aiming at increasing the feasibility of a composition analysis. This will consist of Monte Carlo studies using ZHAireS simulations to obtain the optimal positions for the deployment of the new antennas. We'll then analyze the capability of the extended array to perform mass composition analyses, using methods similar to the Xmax reconstruction method developed by the LOFAR collaboration and possibly other methods.
