Abstract

This project deals with the Electric Power Quality in aircraft environment. The More Electric Aircraft (MEA) concept, which aims the replacement of pneumatic and hydraulic actuators by electromechanical actuators, increases the electric demand in the airplane. This project is connected to the M.Sc. proposal, which focuses on study and implementation of a Power Electronics Conditioner (PEC) to mitigate the unwanted effects found in the DC airplane internal feeders. This PEC must deal with the unbalanced current on the positive and negative feeders of the DC bus to comply with the standards. For this internship, the specific objectives are the development of a mathematical dynamic model and the study of control strategies for the PEC. Digital or hybrid control solutions using DSPs, FPGAs or other microcontrollers system may be studied along this internship as well. (AU)
