Abstract

The research project presented here is part of the doctoral research entitled "The reche-mapuche rebellion in 1655: slavery, parlaments and the Spanish Empire crisis". Completed the credits in disciplines stipulated by the Post-Graduate Program in Social History of USP (and considered by FAPESP as requirement for applying for an internship abroad - BEPE) and started the survey, analysis and systematization of the primary sources, we emphasize the importance and necessity of a careful documentary research in the Spanish archives and libraries, where is located the most of the documentation relating to the general rebellion of Indians occurred in 1655 on the southern border of the Kingdom of Chile.
