In this project the synthesis of organic crystalline materials and the formation of supramolecular gels based on stacking processes will be carried out through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions between electron receptor and donor moieties. Nafthalic diimides (electron acceptors) and aromatic alkoxide derivatives (electron donors) will be used. The preparation of the crystals and the gel will be optimized with the use of different solvents, temperature, and structural modifications of the molecules. X-ray diffraction, rheology, spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques will be used to characterize the materials, aiming to determine the functional properties and the possible applications.
