Abstract

The farm Lagoa do Sino uses agricultural machinery that use lubricating oil for its operation. After its use, the residue is stored in containers that are left in a shed without any withdrawal. Gradually this material accumulates in the place, without adequate disposal, which represents a serious potential of contamination of the ground and possibly of a water table. In order to solve this problem, surfactants will be applied to the residual liquid, a biological one, produced from agroindustrial residues, and another chemical, comparing the efficiencies of each surfactant in the stimulation of the degradation of the used lubricating oil. The biodegradation analysis will be done by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.
