Abstract

Many mechanical systems of great relevance, such as land vehicles, ships, airplanes, turbines, among others, have, as main component, a rotor-blade system. The increasing demand for high speed and performance have required the application of advanced control techniques capable of considering the periodic nature of the dynamics of these systems. Both the computational and experimental application of these control techniques are still challenging. Within this context, this proposal aims to investigate the experimental implementation of control strategies for linear time-varying systems capable of attenuating the vibration of a rotor-blade system. This research will be conducted in Prof. Ilmar Santos' laboratory, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, which has an experimental testtbench fully instrumented for this purpose. Thus, the department of Mechanical Engineering of DTU is the ideal place for this project to be executed. Furthermore, the proponent already has a research collaboration with Prof. Santos, having jointly published and supervised postgraduate students. Therefore, this technical visit will strengthen the existing research collaboration, and thus providing opportunities for new research projects, scientific articles and the exchange of students and researchers.
