Abstract

This particular Scientific Initiation Scholarship is related in the main project to the axis of analysis on presence and notion on spirituality in medical clinic. Since 2012 the Instituto de Psiquiatria (IPq) of Hospital das Clínicas da USP implemented the care protocol named "spiritual anamnesis" among their patients. This procedure is a care protocol nationally validated from models defined by the psychiatrist Harold Koenig, who is linked to Duke University. Two years after the beginning of this implementation, the IPq while aiming to disseminate this care protocol began to offer a programme to train health professionals on it. In 2016 the protocol was adopted by the Hospital da Unicamp and began to be applied there as well. The researcher on this Scientific Initiation Scholarship will focus their efforts on analysing the establishment process of "spiritual anamnesis" as a valid protocol spreaded over Brazil and specifically at the university hospitals of USP and Unicamp. Therefore they will consult on the training programme material, conduct interviews with the medical researchers responsible for this protocol and describe the controversies deriving from it.
