Abstract

The project aims to map the resource flows aiming at reducing waste to the food-water energy nexus in order to propose greater sustainability in food production. The studies will cover students at the undergraduate (scientific initiation) and postgraduate (master's and doctorate) levels. A mapping of food production will be carried out for the city of São Paulo through the collection of data aiming the elaboration of the production profile of waste generation. The results, besides being analyzed by statistical tools, will be usedin the implementation of the Value Stream Mapping technique that will serve as a basis for the use of the Cleaner Production and Lean Production System, aiming at the development of sustainable chains. The methodology of scientometry will be used to analyze scientific production, innovation scenarios and patents in order to prepare a database that will support the taking and decision for individuals selected between the agricultural and agribusiness sectors. A survey of the generation, typology, profile and destination of waste generated in the city of São Paulo will be carried out to propose improvements in sanitary land fills in the scope of energy generation. The results will be presented and shared in a peer-to-peer manner with the other groups included in the"Sustainable Urbanization Global Initiative" project, assisted by the Belmont Forum Consortium, with the purpose of proposing solutions at regional, national and international level.
