Abstract The Projective Theory of Consciousness holds that phenomenal experience, which occurs in a domain structured in two poles (the Sense of the Self and the Sense of the World), is generated by three types of processes embodied in the nervous system: cognitive, affective, and enactive. This research aims to investigate, based on a review of experimental results in Psychology, how the three types of processes interact, determining the structure of conscious experience. Two types of experiments will be delineated, to be conducted in the institution of origin, after the period abroad: a) Interference of affective factors in the spatial perception (Sense of the World), to be studied through visual illusions; b) Interference of affective factors (Sense of the Self) in nutritional behavior, through studies of food choices and their respective seasonings. Both processes will be analyzed through the model presented here, which represents six phases of the conscious process. | |
