The aim of this study will be to evaluate the effect of compaction densities with or without microbial additive in re-ensiled maize silage. The treatments will comprise four compaction densities (400, 500, 600 and 700 kg MO/m3) with or without microbial inoculant in a completely randomized design, with two factors and four replicates. Experimental silos of plastic buckets of 12 L were used and samples were taken 90 days after re-ensiling, in UNESP, Ilha Solteira, SP, Brazil. The samples were dried and then ground to 1 mm and they will be used to determine starch and in vitro digestibility of starch at University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, US. The regression analyses will be performed, and ANOVA will be used to compare the means (P<0.05).
