Clinical evaluation of in-office dental bleaching using a violet light (405-410 nm) - Satisfaction regarding treatment and impact on quality of life

Abstract

The aim of this clinical study is to evaluate the effect of the bleaching treatment performed with violet LED light (405-410 nm), associated or not with a bleaching gel, on participants' satisfaction regarding technique and impact on quality of life. After being informed of the objectives of the study, 75 participants will be selected and randomly divided into one of the treatment groups (n = 25): G1 - 35% hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel (4 sessions, 1 session / week); G2 - violet LED associated with 35% hydrogen peroxide based bleaching gel (405-410 nm, 4 sessions, 1 session / week); G3 - hybrid PH technique (violet LED + 35% hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel + violet LED) (4 sessions, 1 session / week). Satisfaction with treatment and impact on quality of life (OHIP-14 questionnaire) will be assessed at predetermined times (immediately, 14 days and 3 months after completion of bleaching treatment). The data obtained, except for the satisfaction questionnaire data (descriptive evaluation), will be submitted to statistical analysis to determine homogeneity and normality of the sample and comparison between treatment groups, considering a level of significance of 5%.
