Abstract

The present research project proposes the improvement of a semi-analytical inviscid model for two-dimensional separated flow over an unsteady airfoil. The potential theory, the Kutta condition and the Joukowsky transformation between a circle and the plate cross-section were used, being analyzed the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the flow for high angles of attack. This work complements the development of an analytical model in the original process (FAPESP process 2018/23293-7 - scientific initiation grant) used to explain the behavior of the vortices generated behind an inclined two-dimensional flat plate. The results will help to better understand its application in unsteady aerodynamics for cases involving high angles of attack, such as the dynamic stall. (AU)
