Abstract

The aim of the proposal is to carry out the phytochemical characterization of species with economic interest of the Instituto Agronômico (IAC), whether they are cultivated or not, exotic or native. It is intended to optimize and / or adapt analysis protocols for characterization of secondary metabolism products by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and high performance liquid chromatography with evaporative light scattering detector (HPLC/ELSD). The development of methodologies for chromatographic analysis of volatile and non-volatile secondary metabolism substances present diverse interest, with application in plant breeding programs and the development of technological products, such as pharmacological, nutritional or non-nutritional application, in the response of plants subjected to different stresses, etc. It is expected to increase knowledge and produce more qualified researches to characterize the IAC germoplasm accesses, such as the peanut, common beans, cassava, sweet potato, macaúba palm, jatropha, grape and medicinal plants, among others, with the purpose of breeding or technological product development.
