Abstract

The purpose of the CEPID NEV USP program is to investigate the extent to which the population recognize and trust democratic public institutions in relation to various aspects. One way of studying this topic is through the analysis of records provided by public institutions, verifying if these records converge with the reality perceived by the population. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to study the police records of "homicides", checking possible qualitative and quantitative patterns between the records and the evaluation of the police work expressed by the population in the research "Longitudinal Panel with residents in Sao Paulo". The database analyzed is the Digital Occurrences Records (Registro Digital de Ocorrência), from Department of Public Safety (Secretaria de Segurança Pública -SSP) and the area of study will be all key-areas of CEPID NEV USP program.
