Abstract

This research aims at examining the cinema made by women and uses the survey and analysis of Brazilian short films made from 1966 to 1985. Such time frame is set both on the production of the films found and the peculiarity of these cultural productions under military dictatorship. One of the challenges of the project lies in the survey of a filmography since the production of short films in that period has not been studied in depth yet. Understanding History as the building of a space of power, our intention is to review it critically, doing justice to those who also deserve recognition, a political act of resistance to an active process of forgetting and overlapping.
