Abstract This project proposes a study on brass bands which are very recurrent in Brazilian parks. Focusing especially on the musical corporation Dona Gabriella de Oliveira Costa, which is over 80 years old, formed in São João da Boa Vista and still performs every week in the center of Praça Coronel Joaquim José. The research will have a historical approach. In an effort to identify aspects that favor the preservation of the band, by understanding the strategies and adaptations necessary for its existence in todays musical and social context. | |
