Abstract

Spatial practices "shape our spaces of action" (SOJA, 1996, p. 74) in activities linked to habitat, work, leisure, consumption and circulation because, through them, we assign symbols to space, making them part of ourselves to the extent that we appropriate it, even though these practices do not always mean abrupt change or change in spatial substrates (CATALON, 2010).We wish to observe these practices in order to understand socio-spatial fragmentation as the process that, in the present period, encompasses multiple forms of differentiation and inequality which, in the city as a condition and expression of various processes, manifest themselves in a progressively more complex way.
