Abstract

The aim of this study will be to estimate the optimum plot size in swine studies through blank test by means of the Maximum Modified Curvature, Linear-Plateau Regression, Quadratic-Plateau Regression and Comparison of Variances methods, based on the variables considered of performance and yield. The blank test will be conduct at Auburn University, Auburn, AL, US. All nursey piglets in the swine unit (age 28 days to 63 days) will be used in a completely randomized design with four replications, being the measurements carried out during 60 days. After data collection, different plot sizes and their respective coefficients of variation will be establish to determine the optimum plot size using Microsoft Excel and RStúdio software. (AU)
