Abstract

Socio-spatial fragmentation is consolidated in everyday life by reducing the mobility and urban accessibility of those for whom distance constitutes a space barrier and by the avoidance of certain spaces by others, with the consequences of the deactivation of public life and the reinforcement of exclusion, intolerance and fear. These findings are fundamental to evaluate the processes that lead to the redefinition of relations between the center and the periphery, as well as changes in the content of both areas, which will be observed in this work plan from the periphery of São Paulo.
