Abstract

In places that have undergone fragmentation and that preserve small percentages of forest remnants, the composition and spatial configuration of these spots in the landscape interfere with the biological flow, and, consequently, with ecological processes. In this scenario, spatial analyzes can be used in connectivity planning to aid in decision making. In this context, the study will be carried out in the municipality of Araçoiaba da Serra (SP) and will evaluate connectivity for avifauna. The forest fragments will be classified according to the degree of connectivity and known dispersion capacities of some birds will be used. Next, the mapping of the land cover and use of the municipality, which is being elaborated through visual interpretation on the scale of 1: 5,000, and the slope, extracted from contour lines, will be used to subsidize a map of resistance to movement , according to the ecological specificities of the selected bird species. Once this procedure has been completed, it will be possible to develop lower accumulated paths, considered as priorities to improve the connectivity of avifauna in the landscape. (AU)
