Abstract

This project is a proposal for the Foreign Research Stage Grant (BEPE/FAPESP), to be carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Finn Stepputat (DIIS, Danish Institute of International Studies). Through the Urban Studies, the project's goal is to understand and to analyze the connections between the social markers of difference and the urban conflict, reflecting both body and the location of difference in the margins of the state. Specifically, it aims to: i) understand the relationship between violence and the production of order in everyday life; ii) apprehend the subjects' everyday life dynamics and how, regarding difference, they classify and order the world. The research stage also aims to enable a contrastive look between the Danish context and the Brazilian one, where field data was already collected during the first semester of 2019. To approach the comparative framework, a review of current anthropological and sociological researches on violence, social order and urban conflict in Europe - and especially in Danish international studies - will be done. Lastly the internship will grant the internationalization of both the candidate and the research groups' she is part of. (AU)
