Abstract

In Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs), vehicles periodically broadcast beacons packets to update a Road Side Unit (RSU) of their status such as position, speed and destination. However, this large amount of data can be difficult to process, analyze and store even for Cloud Computing, and it may not be appropriate for emergencies services that require quick responses with low latency and low jitter. Therefore, while several sensors disseminate data in the vehicular network, a framework to perform data reduction service directly at the edge of the vehicular network based on Fog Computing is proposed. Our Fog-framework carry-out the data vehicle orchestration, providing infrastructure to receive a data stream and to send only the most relevant data to the cloud. Finally, it should be noted that this proposal is linked to the FAPESP Posdoctoral in execution (process: 2018/23126-3) and the thematic project financed by FAPESP (process: 2015/24494-8).
