Abstract This project proposes a study of the metallicity in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) observed with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey-IV MaNGA. We will use asample of approximately 300 AGN galaxies whose intensities of narrow emission lines were measured in the spectral range from 3.600Å to 10.300Å. The metallicity will be obtained in each object of the sample through the use of photonization models constructed with the code Cloudy. Using as an advantage the homogeneity of the data and the great variety of morphological classification of the galaxies of the sample, it will be possible to investigate the existence of correlations between the metallicity of the AGN and the properties of host galaxies, such as the presence of bars and circumnuclear formation regions. Also, one can compare the metallicity of the AGN obtained directly (from their emission lines) with that inferred by extrapolation of the gradient of metallicity inthe disc of the sample galaxies. This analysis, together with the kinematic data of the disk, will make it possible to investigate the existence of gas movement at large scales towards AGN. (AU) | |
