Abstract

It is possible to understand by "dual career" a simultaneous dedication between two areas of activity, being recurrent in Brazil the performance in sports and academic fields. Developing a sports career requires intensive training, long confinements, travel and changes of the city of residence, or difficulties in adjusting calendars and sports and school activities. Faced with this sociocultural scenario that fulfills the life of an athlete, whether in relation to training for a full social agency, as a preparation for a profession after the end of the athlete's life, the general aim of this research project is to analyze the profile of education of women elite futsal players from the state of São Paulo. The objectives are: a) to analyze the academic career of athletes, from childhood to adulthood; b) analyze the educational level of parents and grandparents and the influence of cultural heritage; c) analyze a trajectory taken by athletes in their sports and academic careers. This quantitative investigation consists in the application, in writing, of a structured questionnaire for adult athletes competing in the Women's Paulista Cup between 2019 and 2020. Data will be tabulated to characterize the responses questionnaires. Descriptive statistics will be used and Chi-square and Spearman correlation tests will be applied. The analysis of results will take place from a sociological perspective, based on the categories of Pierre Bourdieu and collaborators, especially when related to the educational field and the concept of cultural heritage.
